Sometimes this blog feels like a clone of the excellent jewschool. This time they've blogged an upcoming VHI special called "Matzoh & Metal: A Very Classic Passover." All v exciting but I can't find out anything more at the moment...

A friend of mine is doing this comedy reality TV spot in Israel where he pretends to be a hassidic NYC Jew and bothers people. So when Dark Funeral played in Israel lately he went there in the hope of going on stage and singing some hanukkah songs. he almsot got lynched - beer bottles thrown at him, cigarrettes, cursing, threats...
The European Association for Jewish Culture just publ;ished their annual report. They've funded some interesting stuff. What's interesting is how much of it is either a response to the holocaust or is in some way linked to Jewish memory. Also, fascinating how 'high culture' most of it is.

Mazal Tov Cocktail. Jennifer Bleyer's extraordinary early 90s zine, has just been reconstituted *sort of( on the web. At the moment they are looking for contributions - should be interesting to see how this develops...
Holy fucking shit! Someone's made a documentary about punk in Israel! Looks great and I am going to have to beg from someone to see a copy. The website is also v cool:
