London Pecha Kucha Night

I'm really excited to be presenting at the London Pecha Kucha Night on Saturday. My presentation is titled 'My dream came true but I’m still not satisfied: the journey of a Metal Jew'. It will be recorded and I'll post a link in due course.

Apparently, today (13 Feb) is the 40th anniversary of metal - the UK release of the first Black Sabbath album. I could point out that metal, like most genres, does not stem from a unitary point of origin but I don't want to spoil the party...

Documentary on metal in Israel

I was excited to read on Metal Israel that a new documentary has been made on the Israeli metal scene. You can see a clip here. This is something I could only dream about years ago when I was researching my PhD in Israel. There is a welcome rash of documentaries on metal around the world, including as this one, this one and this one. Long may this trend continue...
